Bruno Valersteinas (OneLife): Life Insurance in the Digital Age
Bruno Valersteinas, CEO of OneLife, shares how this digital pioneer in Luxembourg continuously evolves its services to address the shifting needs of its partners and clients. He highlights OneLife's guiding principles: efficiency, reliability, and proximity—whether through their new full digital application functionality or the opening of a branch in Brussels.
How is the OneLife digital offering evolving?
As a digital pioneer in Luxembourg, OneLife has provided secure transaction capabilities for several years. However, with the evolving needs of our partners and their clients, we continuously adapt our range of digital services. In 2024, we launched a full digital application functionality, now available in Belgium and France. This ergonomic and intuitive system, featuring intelligent data entry, allows the set-up of application project (possible in several times, with real-time changes at any time of required), as well as the uploading of supporting documents by partners and clients. The result is more efficient file management, fewer back-and-forth interactions with partners, and faster policy issuance. In fact, this tool has reduced our processing times by threefold.
"We aim to give our clients an experience that meets the highest standards, combining the power of digital with the human touch."
Bruno Valersteinas, CEO of OneLife
Why did you open a branch in Brussels?
Over more than 30 years, OneLife has significantly expanded its presence in the Belgian market, becoming a leader in life insurance under the Freedom to Provide Services (FPS). Building on this position and aiming to enhance proximity with our partners, opening a branch in Belgium seemed an obvious choice. With OneLife Belgian Branch and its first BeLife contract, we now offer a broader range of products that complement our FPS services. This approach combines the flexibility and asset protection of Luxembourg life insurance with the proximity of the Belgian financial framework. An ideal combination for meeting our clients’ needs and strengthening our links with partners.
What risks and opportunities do you see?
The main risk we face today is undoubtedly the uncertainty—political, geopolitical, and consequently, economic. In this context, Luxembourg life insurance offers major advantages: a protective legal framework, political stability, and the country’s financial health. However, attracting new clients is not enough; we must also meet their expectations and prove our ability to retain them. Therein lies our opportunity: to be ever more attentive, closer, and offering highly personalised services. We, at OneLife, try to guarantee our clients an experience that meets the highest standards, combining the power of digital with the human touch. In an increasingly uncertain world, the security we—as a life insurer—provide goes beyond Luxembourg’s environment. It also relies on insurance companies ensuring greater reliability, attention, and close support, helping to reduce uncertainty for our clients.
