Fatah Boudjelida and Keith O'Donnell (ATOZ Tax Advisers): 20 Years of Growth
ATOZ Managing Partners, Fatah Boudjelida and Keith O'Donnell, describe two decades of offering comprehensive and integrated tax solutions. They attribute the success of ATOZ to professionalism and continuous growth, both organic and external. While continuing to build their partnerships with clients, they also wish to ensure their continued independence and enhance their contribution to sustainability.
Can you describe ATOZ in a few words?
We started the ATOZ journey in 2004 as an ambitious start-up, 100% “Made in Luxembourg.” From day one, our team had the clear objective to build the leading independent, high-end firm. For 20 years, we have delivered a comprehensive and integrated range of direct and indirect tax solutions to both local and international clients. Our offering also includes, amongst others, expertise in transfer pricing, corporate and aviation finance, and tax litigation services. We selected a highly experienced professional team, intending to ensure consistently high standards of client service. The team has a steadfast commitment to objectivity, blending the precision of tax advice with the commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance.
“Our team had the clear objective in mind to build the leading independent, high-end firm."
What were the key milestones in ATOZ’s 20-year journey?
It has been an exciting journey so far, and yet it also feels as if the adventure has only just begun. We have always prided ourselves on ensuring our offering remains ahead of the curve and meets the needs of both our clients and our members. The year following our formation in 2004, we were founding members of Taxand – a global network of independent tax firms, now a world leader with more than 3000 advisers across over 50 countries. In 2012, we opened our office in Casablanca and the ATOZ Foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, was born. Since then, we have supplemented our offering with enhanced compliance through ATOZ Services; aviation finance services; and IT solutions. This year, the ATOZ Dubai office was opened, and we complemented our ESG capability with Deveco Sustainability joining the ATOZ family.
What are the challenges and opportunities ATOZ faces?
We anticipate ATOZ’s continued growth. We will build on the partnerships we have formed over the past 20 years. We want to be certain that our presence in their market, be it geographic or scope of service, ensures we make the most sense in the market for ourselves and for our clients. While our core business will remain our international & corporate tax and indirect tax services, our focus will continue to include topics that are the top priorities of those we work with, including, for example, the all-important environmental, social, and governance requirements. Another key challenge will be technology: Whether it is through the digital solutions that we already offer clients via our BCKL platform, or the focussed use of cutting-edge tools such as LLMs, we are convinced that technology will continue to enhance our client service and development of our teams.
